reality hits

Hi

today the reality of what we are about to do has hit home. Ive been reading how other marathon runners have been getting their running numbers and was thinking dont have mine ...well maybe its all a big mistake and its not real. Well not so , my number arrived today and reality has hit me like a brick. Im not sure if Im excited or terrified, probably both yay.
Im number 48526 , its a good number dont you think !

Also now have a route map, like Id get lost (you never know) and all the instructions about were to go how to attatch my timing chip and how to get tickets to the biggest pasta party ever yum yum, best of all Ive a lovely pair of red shoe laces, just right to go with my fancy pink socks, Im a girl what more is there to say.

Hi
my first time blogging here so here goes.
Ive been running in a new pair of trainers, I didnt think I would need a new pair so soon but it seems that my first pair are comming up to the end of their life and the pair I start the marathon with need to have at least 150 miles left in them. I thought at this stage I should seek proper advice rather than just ask my trainers if they can make the distance or not.
Then there is learning this new language, I find myself talking about times and gels, carb loading and camelbaks, crazy .... maybe !
any way I thought you would like to see my new socks, yes Im excited about them for a couple of reasons, firsty they are pink and secondly they stop my feet from getting blisters or thats what it says on the tin.
any way bye for now

Welcome...

Welcome to my blog, this is my first post.

If you are looking for tips on how to run a marathon - you've come to the wrong place. I am not your traditional runner but I wanted to do something to raise funds for my favourite charity Tenovus and challenge myself and made the decision that this was it!

Many people have questioned my decision to run - as after a car accident a number of years ago I was told I would never walk again. However, I am now pretty much recovered apart from a few aches and pains and compared to what some people are going through fighting cancer, I have absolutely nothing to complain about!

For you football fans out there, I'm probably the Ledley King of running - not great on the training due to my dodgy joints but hopefully will come good on the big matches!

It's now 5 weeks to go - so hopefully you will wish me luck and sponsor Fran and I - every penny counts.

Thanks
